What is Siemens PLM Connection?
Siemens PLM Connection is a globally branded user community and is supported by PLM World in the Americas, PLM Europe in Europe and Siemens in Asia Pacific (Australia, China, India, Taiwan, Korea & Japan). Additionally, there are many other global user events that Siemens and other user groups organize throughout the year. A single global brand helps extend the reach of our community across the globe as many Siemens clients are global companies.
What is the Americas annual event called?
The name of our Annual Event is titled "Siemens PLM Connection” organized by PLM World with support from Siemens. This branding is also common to all other Siemens PLM Software product user events across the world.
Siemens PLM Connection Americas 2008 Users Conference
Will be held June 2-5, in Orlando, FL, and will bring together Siemens PLM Software product users, managers, partners and developers of Siemens PLM Software all into a single integrated conference and will contain several Connections.
During registration, you will choose which of these Connections you want to register for, however, this will not limit the presentations or training sessions you will be able to attend. It is simply a way to help facilitate networking among attendees based on your primary interests. Listed below are all the Connections. Visit the links on the left side of the page for further details regarding individual connections.

What if I want to make a presentation at the annual conference?
We allow for all interested users to submit abstracts for the upcoming Siemens PLM Connection conference. This opportunity allows all users to connect with other users and Siemens alike in sharing experiences, best practices, and general product knowledge. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to receive free admission to the conference, as well as extending your current network. To take advantage of this offer, go to www.plmworld.org.
Has PLM World gone away?
No, we are still here! In the past, the annual event has been called "the PLM World annual conference". The “user community” is also called "PLM World, Inc." This has led to some confusion as to what PLM World really is. PLM World, Inc. was and is an active independent users group and is very involved in the planning and implementation of our upcoming yearly event, now called UGS Connection, as explained above.
We intend to increase our involvement with Users by revamping our web site and adding content, creating individual Chapter home pages, assisting with organizing local Chapter events, working closer with Siemens PLM Software and other global groups, etc.
Is Siemens "taking over" the PLM World users community?
Absolutely not. Siemens has made it clear that they do not wish to "run" or "control" our user’s community. The PLM World user community desires a relationship with Siemens that helps strengthen the support of our user community in terms of product coverage and continued growth along with support of global branding and marketing. Much like any company adopting Best Practices, the PLM World Board, has been working diligently to improve all aspects of the UGS Connection conference. Collectively, we are working hard to fully understand our attendee’s needs, properly budget our funds, and plan and implement the most successful conference possible. All of this is made possible by our diverse team comprised of user volunteers (whose companies use Siemens PLM Software), Siemens liaisons and a professional Business Director overseeing our day-to-day work plans.
