PDF format - last updated 05/05/08
OBJECTIVE
The Velocity Series Connection Featuring Solid Edge has been created to deliver a “connection within a conference” for the Velocity Series user community. The Velocity Series Connection brings together Solid Edge, Femap, Teamcenter Express, and CAM Express users to learn how to best leverage the products they are using today, as well as expand their knowledge about other ways to make their business more successful. The connection will focus intensively on training on the upcoming release of Solid Edge. Sessions will include:
- Hands on training on the new release of Solid Edge
- Technical sessions and hands on training for all Velocity Series products
- Customer success stories from other users that have proven results
- Round Tables where you will work directly with the Product Managers to drive future product development
- Networking opportunities with Velocity Series development and product managers as well as other users
The 3-day technical session portion of the conference held Mon. - Wed. has been specially designed for customers who want to learn the most they can in a very short time, allowing them to quickly return to business. In three short days you’ll be able to increase your product skills and improve your productivity within your organization. In addition to the Velocity Series Connection, the overall conference of UGS Connection provides many evening activities, networking opportunities, and the ability to expand your knowledge of the Siemens portfolio.
FORMAT
The Velocity Series Connection will focus more intensively on training, both on Solid Edge and the other Velocity Series products. User sessions will add to your understanding of how others are using the products, including key tips to help you be successful. You will have opportunities to move between product sessions and the training sessions.
The following are some highlighted topics that will prove valuable to many users:
- Solid Edge: How can I increase my productivity by 10X?
The next release of Solid Edge will be the most significant since the introduction of Solid Edge V1. With the delivery scheduled for the summer of 2008, the Velocity Series Connection will be the first opportunity for users to experience hands on training of the new release. The training will be conducted by experts from the Solid Edge product organization at Siemens PLM Software and will be focused on how the new functionality can be applied to increase design productivity and collaboration.
- FEA for the non-FEA user. What is FEA all about anyhow?
Users will have the opportunity to attend an engineering oriented class that begins with basic analysis of stress and strain and will cover the theory and application of finite element modeling. Users will learn about the proper application of FEA and correct interpretation of results in order to insure that the answers from the FEA analysis are correct.
- Engineering strategies for PDM: How to make PDM an asset, not a burden.
This training will focus on Engineering processes and how they can be enhanced with PDM. Different approaches for revisions, revision management, release processes, and design reviews will be presented.
